Little information for renting a car in Guadeloupe
Rental companies often only have small engines at fairly low prices and the roads in Basse-Terre are mountainous, yes, we are on a volcanic island...
So don't be surprised if you sometimes have to climb a road in 1st or second gear. It's the same highway code as in France, same radar too.

The price of gasoline and diesel is set at the end of the month by the prefect, which is why the pumps do not display the price.... it's the same everywhere!
The weather can be variable at certain times of the year, however;
In the event of a violent storm, ban the use of telephones and electrical appliances and do not take shelter in a wooded area, nor near poles, pylons, nor under an isolated tree.
- If you absolutely have to travel:
-report your departure and destination to loved ones and be very careful,
-respect the deviations and prohibitions put in place,
-do not, under any circumstances, go on foot or by car on a submerged route, and do not attempt to cross fords or flooded areas, even partially.
